Reuters Technology China Ltd. (RTCL) was officially opened in Sep 2006, It is based in the heart of Beijing’s Zhongguancun Software Park, known as ZPark. It will help build on the company’s position as a global leader in the provision of financial information to the financial services industry. Reuters Beijing Development Centre, the development division of RTCL will focus on the infrastructure that supports key Reuters products such as its premium desktop 3000Xtra, Reuters Trader and Reuters Knowledge.

The Reuters Beijing Development Centre is one of several strategic development centers Reuters has globally. Seventy per cent of the 400 development staff currently employed at RTCL are graduates from leading Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University, Beijing University and China’s Academy of Science. In the year 2008, the total number of development staff is likely to grow to 600 to meet the requirements of Reuters global and Chinese market strategy.
